James Tiptree, Jr. Award is given at WisCon, Madison, Wisconsin's annual feminist science fiction convention, for the work of science fiction or fantasy published during that year which best explores or expands gender roles. 1995's winners were Nancy Springer and Ursula K. LeGuin, who will be a guest author at the 1996 WisCon. The history and goal of this award are explained here.
